Blood Ledger

This untreated 5.07 ct spinel from Vietnam has a compact, deep red color with high color saturation and a dense appearance. The stone does not rely on effects or internal turbulence, but rather on a coherent, substantial color body that extends evenly throughout the entire stone.

The inclusions are minimal, finely distributed, and barely perceptible to the naked eye. They are not linear or geometric rutile structures, as also found in certain Mahenge spinels, but rather very subtle natural features that do not impair transparency or light transmission. The light remains clearly active in the stone and emphasizes the depth of the color, rather than being dominated by internal structures.

The oval cut deliberately supports this character. Large, serene facets keep the color body contained and give the spinel a commanding presence. Instead of flashing, the stone appears dense, controlled, and substantial – a red with weight.

Crimson Strata is aimed at collectors who appreciate reduction: a spinel without visual distraction, with high material quality and honest naturalness. Not a structural spectacle – but a calm, powerful colored stone.

A stone that doesn't need to explain why it works.

Note on Chip:
The stone has a small chip on the girdle, which is explicitly shown in the video. The chip is not visible from above and also has no influence on light refraction. No internal cracks have occurred either, which was microscopically examined. Repolishing would be an optional possibility, but this is very critical for spinel due to its high hardness. The stone would also fall below the important 5ct mark as a result (loss according to the polisher approx. 0.2-0.3ct). The price has therefore been adjusted (-1500.-)
