➡️ Technical specifications

Imperial Scarlet is not a gemstone.
It is an apparition.

This untreated 6.65 ct spinel from Mogok (Myanmar) displays an intense to rich red color, rarely seen. The broad, archaic Antique Cushion Cut enhances this effect, giving the stone a massive, almost sculptural presence. Here, color is not merely on the surface – it resides at its core.

In the light, Imperial Scarlet reveals depth rather than flashes. Large facets gather the light, reflecting it calmly and creating an impression of weight, dignity, and endurance. It is precisely this quiet authority that distinguishes this spinel from smaller, brighter stones. The subtle glimmer of the facets in the typical Burmese red appears mystical.

At the edge of the table, there is a very small natural chip, barely perceptible to the naked eye and visible only under magnification. This is deliberately not concealed or kept secret. It is part of this stone's journey – a testament to its origin, age, and natural material process. For connoisseurs, this does not diminish its character but confirms it. The chip does not affect the stone's brilliance, nor are there any underlying cracks, etc. From the side view on the left, the chip is visible (white) at the top edge. I will gladly provide detailed photos upon request!

Imperial Scarlet is for collectors who understand that absolute nature is not flawless – but unique. A stone of this size, color, and origin does not belong in mass production or comparative tables.

It belongs to be found.

Note on chip:

  • Chip on table facet, barely visible to the eye.
  • No impact on light refraction, no cracks in the stone (microscopically examined).
  • Repolishing is optionally possible, but always somewhat critical with spinel due to its hardness.
  • Expected weight loss according to the lapidary approx. 0.3-0.5ct (repolishing of the entire table + girdle).
  • Price reduction -CHF 4000.-
  • Cost for cutting + re-certification amounts to approx. CHF 800.- - 1000.-
